Visiting My Love Cousins 2005
|
|

|
After departing from Lineville, we went to
Lafayette, Al to visit cousin Sara Love Harper, daughter of Sam Love, my
Moms older brother. She was recuperating from knee replacement surgery.
After visiting with her, we contacted her brother Hiram Love in Lanett,
Al. It was only about 30 minutes away on the Alabama, Georgia State line.
What fun to see him again after about 54 years! After visiting with Hiram
and his wife for a couple of hours, it was getting late and I had promised
another cousin, Barry Love who lived in LaGrange, Ga. that I would try and
contact him for dinner that evening! I called Barry, and by happenstance he was only about 5 minutes
away, driving a truck! After a joyful visit we all went to a local B-Q Restaurant
across the Chatahoochee River in Ga. for dinner! What a fun and exciting
day for all three of us Loves! |

After we said goodbye to our cousins, Marlene
and I took one more trip to Wetumpka, Al. where my grandfather George
F. Love died, looking for his gravesite, it was all for naught! The
next day we stopped in Talladega, Al. to visit our cousin Huel Love
widow Betty. She was not available, so we stopped at the Cemetery
to pay our respects. His parents Wilbern and Mattie Love are also
buried there. Aunt Mattie lived to be just over 100 years old!!
