Thanksgiving 2015

With Aunt Berta Angell
Marlene's Aunt Berta Angell is 99 years old and has lived in her home by herself until she went to the hospital about the 1st of August 2015. She is at the point in life where she needs 24 hour care!! Her resources aren't sufficent, so now she is confined to a nursing facility full time. They will let you check the patient out for short period of time!! So Marlene and son Tom worked out the details to take Berta to her home in La Mesa when Tom would be visiting for Thanksgiving with his Family!! The Arrival, Tom has volunteered to push Berta in the wheelchair thru the garage, along a narrow walkway in back up the ramp and into the house!! A very challenging process!!

Olivia is visiting with Berta. It was fun to watch Berta when she was well play the board game with the kids. She was very strict with the rules, especially Justin!!

Fun time for the kids now, Olivia, Chloe and Justin. They stopped at Aunt Cindy's house on the way back to Ramona and had brownies!! The children were very patient waiting for the van to come and pick Berta up!!
Marlene had brought leftovers from home so Berta would have a true Thanksgiving dinner. The rest of the Family had fast food. On the right is a neighbor that came over to visit Beta and say hi. After lunch Berta was tired and wanted to go back to her bed at the rest home!!
