1. Get lots of local folks involved. My wife Sharon, sister Le Verle and I did the basics. (Food, drinks, location) My son Matt and his wife Dawn and their son Daiven provided their home for the day. It took too long to find out how many people would come. This kept me from getting several good locations. I recommend whom ever does this in 2017 to start now finding and securing a location. It turned out the location was the best. It rained and we had cover. It was hot and we had plenty of air being moved by a big fan. Thank you so much Matt, Dawn, and Daiven.
2. My wife Sharon took on the job of hostess to make the awards and handle the auction. She did a fabulous job as she always does. I am so blessed to be her husband. The auction raised enough money to almost pay for the food. I recommend we do more of this in the future. Brother Ron was gracious to help with the expenses, so no one had to bear the financial part of putting together a reunion. We learned at the auction if you want a particular item you need a lot of tickets. Ask the big winner for the day.
3. There were games for all ages. This was provided by Le Verles daughter Robin Thompson. The children were kept busy and really enjoyed the afternoon. A great big thanks for a job well done.
4. Ron organized the pictures and he has updated the Robershaw pages on the internet. Thank you Ron for putting the family tree with pictures on the internet. Having used this site to help prepare for the reunion, I realize there are a lot of updates that need to be made. If you have information that belongs on this site please forward to Ron. The email address is on the site.
5. We had a great group of folks attend this reunion. How do I know? When it came time to help clean up and put things away, everyone helped out. This was greatly appreciated by my son Matt and his family. A wonderful time was had by all.
